Child Dentistry

When is it a good time to bring a child to the dentist?

The earlier the better, here at Care Dental we give advice about diets affecting healthy tooth growth and effective tooth brushing. We recommend to bring young children along to mum and dad’s or older siblings appointment so they have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the environment and become comfortable enough to receive treatment in the future if needed.

Once children reach 9-10 years, an x-ray is crucial to identify problems like crowding, impacted, or missing teeth, and that any issues are treated promptly.

If these things are picked up early, treatment can be a lot quicker, simpler and much more cost effective than if they are missed. Dental issues that are missed at this stage, and require correcting later in life, can be much more intensive, complex and expensive.
